I have a stock 19k mile BRF tranny I'm getting ready to install, I am having new front/rear seals installed, hardend stator, billet servo.

Should I upgrade to a 13 vein pump rotor or leave it as is? Whats the advantage to upgrading to the 13 vein?

Leave it as is/the only benefit of the 13 vane is smoother pump feed to the regulator valve at hi rpm.I am starting to go back to the 7 .Its much stronger with less slots machined into it.

Ok, I'll leave it alone - Thanks Chris...

I'm sending you a e-mail on another subject when you get a chance please get back to me. -Ed

What Chris said. I use mostly 7 vane and occasionally 10 vane idf it had it already and it looked ok. There is no benefit to more vanes. You cant just switch them out anyway. The correct clearance needs to be verified. Aftermarket rotors seem to be too thick almost every time. .0007-.0013. Thats the clearance i shoot for myself. If you dont have access to a machine shop and need a pump rotor replacement then you are better off buying a pump assembly from one of the vendors.
