I have some planet carriers that have the copper washers worn completly away, The shop the switched my bushings out, wanted to sell me a new carrier for 50 bucks. I see ck sells a 3 peice set for 40. But do you have do buy them 3 matching peices, or can you just buy a "new" carreir with the planets and run it in your old ring and sun gears?

Why dont you just replace the worn washers and recheck the thrust at the pinions yourself? Its easy to do. Just use grease to hold the needle bearings in place.

That was done to the overdrive carrier with the snap ring holding in the bearings, however on the front carrier and the rear, I was told that you had to pound out the dowls and that its would likely reck the cage?

How do you press out those stakes/axels/pins in the carrier to pull it out and replace those washers? Just wondering, pretty sure I dont have the equipment. But for the future!

I was talking to a local tranny guy and he said their are washers to fix my carriers without taking them apart? Are they any good? Are they like split washers? Please help, need to get this tranny build going!!

Thanks

For that planet your better off replacing it with another. Its easier and has been done many times by many builders with no problems.
