If I switched out the flat rollers for hydraulic or mechanical rolller lifters, would there be anything else I need to change? Also would that effect anything adversely such as valve lash? Also considering roller rockers, but having same concerns. Any insight would be helpful as I've never dealt with this area before.

If you want roller lifters you will need a roller cam too. In order to keep the lifters from turning you will either need the ones that come in a pair with a bar that holds them together or have to get a "spider" to hold them all from turning.

You can use roller rockers without changing anything else. But to use roller lifters, you would need a new cam, pushrods, and springs. Once you get all the new stuff in, then you check the lash, to see if it is correct for the new lifters. Roller rockers much easier.... not all the same benefits, but much less of a PITA, although there sometimes is a clearance problem with the little pedestals that hold the rocker shafts.
