I am deciding on which way to go,can anyone that has been in both single and twin turbo cars give me an idea on advantages or disadvantages??

Also i am in need of stage 2 headers/downpipe.

I may also trade my 10 second street car plus stage motor for a built stage II car if anyone might be interested.

Thank you.

Cheese,

A single larger turbo is more efficient than two small ones in most lower boost applications. This is according to egineers at Garrett. Some people have had problems with trying to get bigger turbos to spool on the v-6 with an Automatic.
It can be done. You will also have this problem when you start going bigger than 70mm on twins. I know it can be done just passing along duttweiler's opinion.

-Dale Cherry runs a PT101
-Bill Anderson runs a PT98 with a clutch, they help a lot!!!
-M. *&^ is going to be running a custom Thumper bigger than 90MM.

How fast do you want to go?

I want to go fast enough to be immpressive and put a smile on my face!:)
I would think 9.5s to start and fine tune from there.
I am not looking into getting into a car that looks like an all out race car.
Something like Jim D's white gn from years ago but faster!
I want to look as stock as possible but have a weapon!

I have a PT 88 in my garage that I might give you a deal on.
The 88MM Compressor will make about 1250HP in this unit.
It is a mid frame turbo. You should be able to max it out around 8.2s @ 166ish...

Shoot do I really want to go faster than that, maybe I will keep it!

Decisions/decisions... lol
Ok let me know, i have a lt 76 gtq on my 3.8 stock motor, so an 88 or 90 was what i had in mind for my stage motor if i stayed single turbo.

The 76GTQ should get you to a 8.9 @ 152ish on kill.
If you are happy with that, then keep it!
If you are going to upgrade anyway you may get
a better price on the turbo with less miles.
Just thinking out loud.

I think that number is overrated to be honest........maybe at 50 psi??
Sent you a p. m.

I don't know about the GTQ, my Turbonetics 76 has given me a best et of 8.96 and a best MPH of 153 on 26 - 28 lbs of boost. Not too bad.....

Jack, what trim is the compressor on the 76 that you run? I am sure it is a lot lower than "generic" 76GTQs.
