Hi guys, I purchased the above and was going to have the eliminators pressed onto the new axles. But I measured them both and the axles measure 1.399 and the bearings are 1.392. I'm no machinist, but that seems too tight. So before I take them to the machine shop I wanted to make sure this is normal? Can anybody confirm they can be pressed on when they're .007" smaller than the axles? Please explain.
Thanks

too tight

should only be .002 max interference fit

moser clip elims for stock diameter shaft (1.400) are the 9200's and they are 1.398"

which elim kit did you get?

also curious as to how you determined the inner diameter of the elim , a slide caliper wont work unless it has a knife edge , could just be your measuring equipment

Maybe give Strange a call and see if their Cclip eliminators can be pressed on other brand axles.

alos curious, I purchased the Strange A-1033's from Brian at Gbodyparts for my moser axles. Maybe I should measure the I.D. on them? I think I will,-1.396" w/my expensive dial calipers. Too lazy to get out the inside mikes.

i just measured the moser 9200 elim .. with a cheap caliper .... 1.3980"

Yes the elim kit is also the A-1033, and I did use knife edge calipers. However I realized I was measuring the "wedding ring" not the bearing sleeve. The bearing sleeve is actually 1.397 - which is exactly the .002" that pacecarta mentioned above. But...what about the "wedding ring"? It needs to be pressed on as well?

that will stretch (its not rockwell hardened)
the bearing cone is hardened and stretching it as much as you say you needed would have caused it to crack and also affect the bearings

Is the 1033 the new setup that uses roller bearings that are the same style as a wheel bearing ? They arent supposed to leak opposedt to the standard ball bearing elims that are prone to leakage...

I read something about that too - which is why I went with the Strange. Hope they're good - I hate fighting with leaks...
