Ok, I have a quick question. How do I get my 1-2 and 2-3 light throttle and part throttle shifts to last a little longer. I have a 85 Monte with the 200-4r that shifts a little quicker then I would like it. I have 28 inch tall tires that I feel effects the quick shifts. It is the BRF valve body with the CZF governor. I have also tried the BRF governor with no change. I know these govs are close. Yes the spring is removed from the large weight. Can I grind down the larger weight to help the shifts last a bit longer?

Thanks, Brian

I guess I don't understand what you mean. You WANT the trans to shift as fast as possible to eliminate slippage. Harder is not necessarily better. If you want the time it takes to get to the shift, what you have to remember with the governor weights and springs is: "Lighter is Later".

To Fast

It shifts faster than I want. I want tyo bring the mph up before the shift. 1-2 is 12mph and 2-3 is 20mph. See what I mean now.
This is a pain in the a**.

What I meant by a fast shift is the time it takes to engage the gear from start of shift to end. The timing is off is what you mean. It shifts too soon. A slow shift causes flairing and slippage under full throttle conditions. I take this stuff very litteraly because I have to deal with transmission problems on a daily basis and have to make sure I get the proper info for proper diagnosis.:D Sounds like you still have to play with the governor a bit if the valve body is the original GN one.
