I am having a very hard time trying to find the tool which removes and installs the clutch plate on our r4 air condition compressors. I have checked the Autozone tool rental and they don't have the metric tool. I think early r4 compressors use a course SAE thread in the hub while the late model use a metric thread which is finer. I have tried the SAE and it does not screw in to the hub. Does anyone know where I can get a metric puller/installer? I don't want to purchase a $100 kit either for this project although I dontt mind spending $30 on a specific tool for this job. I have tried this kit

without any good success. The silver one shown there is course SAE and the black one which is supose to be correct is so loose in the hub when I went to turn the bolt which pushes the clutch off the whole tool came out of the clutch. I know the clutch is not stripped or damaged because I have a brand new AcDelco Compressor which I personally installed. So, I am blaming the cheap made in China tools. Anyone who can help me get this clutch please help me out. Thank you.

I think that kit is made by Astro Tools. If it is, I would call them about this. There is a very helpful guy working there who helped me out a bunch. I think he is the only guy in the tech department. Sorry, can't remember his name.

The link below might be helpful when discussing the issue.

I went through the factory service manual looking for a part number on a clutch remover. Did not find anything. The intention is probably to replace the entire compressor. Not economical in a lot of cases.
