I have been running a mix of 93/100 and alky with 28#s of boost.Usually mostly 100.Had the alky pump fail twice now so im affraid to run just 93 and alky alone.

SignUp Now!how many 55gal drums of VP C16 will you need to use before you could have purchased MeOH injection set-up?
that sounds like the perfect application for MeOH. or am i missing something
how many 55gal drums of VP C16 will you need to use before you could have purchased MeOH injection set-up? i'm pretty sure c16 use is frowned upon for street use in californi-stan; not that anyone here is calling you in to the enviro-fascists. have fun!![]()
Methanol is illegal for sale as use as a motor fuel in CA for one and C16 will make more power than 93/alky. If anyone is serious about maximizing what they have they could care less if they go through 3 or 23 55 gallon drums of C16.that sounds like the perfect application for MeOH. or am i missing something

If i had anything to do with it and you were limited to some reason to 18psi and wanted to make the most power with what you have you would need at least C16. 11:0:1 compression:biggrin:Hello.. i'm trying to run 18 PSI boost.. do I need C16
my goal is 11.90
c16. if ya drive it around alot on straight c16 be ready to change some plugs. ive also run 12 befor aswell with no problem. i tried alky and with 26 pounds of boost i made a ton of runs then one day i got the bearings. my wastegate stuck closed one time and my car seen 30+pounds of boost from a 76gtq turbo on my 24 pound tune. if i had been running pump gas and alky i dont have a doubt in my mind that id have got the motor. this was on the first full hit after a fresh build. race gas only for me![]()
Without anything else to go on..... All I can suggest is, next time don't run it with 12gal of gas...Why add the weight if you don't have to. If I calculated it correctly and you ran with 2gal instead of 12 you can pick up a little over a tenth. I try and drop every lb I can... I know it sounds crazy...Shoot, maybe I am crazy! But it gets you that much closer to your goal for free, and you don't have to do anything!

I had a similar thing happen to me. The wastegate hose was cracked to the point where it was hang by a small thread. The boost went over 30 #'s. At the time I had 116 Sunoco in the tank , That saved the engine.
I run either VP's C16 or Sunoco 116 octane fuel.
im sure thats true but i just like the peace of mind that i dont have to worry about another fueling system coming on or not while i got all the other stuff going on. same reason i dont run stock lines or double pumpers. but your right about wide band correction.... its the shiznit lolAgree..
And if running C16 would never allow the motor to blow up... i'd have 23 55 gallon drums.
Anyone question this go to a Buick event and see how many race cars on C16 blow motors up.
I think those that spend 90 dollars for 5 gallons of C16 are either very rich "IF" they race their cars at all, or take their cars to the track once a year and gloat about it the remaining 54 weeks. For someone wanting to go to the track a few times a month.. 200+ in fuel costs.. plus the rest.. its a lot of money.
If your tuned for 20 PSI, and your boost goes to 30+.. your done like fried chicken race gas or not. Only way to save the motor is if the car is tuned on SD and a 3 bar is in place.
That may save the motor but if its an engine that is already on an aggressive tune adding 2-3psi will still hurt it in most cases. I hurt mine a few months ago. Boost was 26psi the day before and 29psi in 3rd at the trackOnly way to save the motor is if the car is tuned on SD and a 3 bar is in place.
By tuned on "sd" do you mean speed density.
