Just wondering does any one run a Racegate and does this wastegate style of set up slow down the spool of Turbo's???I heard the stock style set up was best for quick spool up of a Turbo. Also the THDP was mentioned to me.I don't know if I should but a new converter or ditch the racegate and add a THDP.

You should have plenty of converter for that turbo. What DP are you using? How is the Racegate set-up? I have a MUCH larger turbo and have no problem with spool.

Its just a 3 inch downpipe. The Racegate is set up near the middle of the crosspipe.I had a 60-1 Turbo when that set up was put on.I was not happy with the 60-1 Turbo at all.The 60-1 was very laggy. My TE-44 Turbo spools way faster but still I think something's holding it back.I don't know if the Racegate is the problem. It has been on the car for nearly 13 years.

I've run the Racegate on a previous car and going in my hybrid now. No spoolup problems, make sure you don't have an exhaust leak somewhere else and that the racegate valve is seating properly.

Most guys have been telling me to stay with the Racegate.Only problem now is where do I put the RJC valve??? I don't have any exhaust leaks down by the Racegate.Maybe the RJC valve will help but I don't know where it goes on what side of the Racegate.

Run the RJC in between boost supply for the WG and the bottom port on the racegate. Basically it will keep boost from getting to the diaphragm and lifting the valve off the seat until the boost exceeds the threshold of the spring in the RJC. You may get a spike with the RJC in line as it's kind of an on/off deal once it hits the spring threshold in this configuration.

Thanks for the reply.I may have a hard time adjusting the RJC valve though because the car pretty much has to go on a lift.I might just take it to my Buick shop and have them put it in and set it.

I hope the RJC sure helps with the spool.I may not need a new converter then.;)
