Noticed my Radistor fan was not working the other day. Hot wire the fan direct and fan is ok. I also have Power to relays. 5a rlys fuse is good. After sitting for a day I came back and tried it again by turning the A/C on and the fan worked for a second then the a/c clutch disengaged and the fan stopped working a I can’t get either to work again. I tried swapping out relays as well. I have not run the vortex diag stuff yet since my problem with the fan seems tied to the A/C. Btw I know refrigerant is low but the rad fan should still work right?

If low on gas in the ac low-pressure switch shut the ac compressor off and if water temp is below turn on temp the fan will not run

The fan never comes on. It should come on at 170 is. Car will get close to 200 and not turn on. Only reason I mentioned A/C is because when I got it to work breifly I turned the AC on and the clutch engaged. Now I can’t get the clutch to engage either. And no fan.

Is this on a stock car? Assuming stock, do you have a chip in it with the fan-on temp set to 170 degrees? What temp thermostat do you have?

Is the chip programmed for a 160 tstat? Our fans are computer controlled. The chip needs to match the tstat. Not sure what factory turn on is but IIRC these cars came with a 195 tstat so factory turn on will be over 200 and like THensley said above, if the a/c compressor is not on, the fan won't come on. If you have access to a decent scan tool, you can see the temp the computer sees and might give you a better idea of what is going on.
