RADIO DIMMER WIRE

I just swapped out the factory radio (which crapped out on me) for an aftermarket unit. While wiring the new radio to the factory Concert Sound 2 harness I noticed the aftermarket radio did not have a corresponding wire for the factory radio dimmer wire. After speaking with the aftermarket radio manufacturer's customer service (which provided very little assistance) I decided to not connect the factory dimmer wire with the aftermarket radio. Once the aftermarket radio installation was completed I noticed the instrument panel's (Kirban LED) lights do not illuminate. Is this due to the radio dimmer wire not being connected?

cant you just give it power and have it bright full time?

Only if by mistake you shorted a wire...check the 5a fuse in fuse box labels ill (i think)...
