Our beloved Candy will be going to the Rainbow Bridge tomorrow morning. I'm glad ya'll can't see me, I'm bawling like a little boy.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...."

Don't feel bad Dave, when I had to put my buddy Max down I cried like a baby and was not myself for a few weeks.:( You have my sympathy for what it's worth.

Dave,

Im sorry for your loss. I know how it feels when you lose a special pet. They are just part of family...:frown:

:( Sorry to hear it. Our little friends really are members of the family. It's always heartbreaking when they have to leave us.

Yeah sorry to hear Dave, I had to give my dog up and it was very hard, having to have one put to sleep must be tough.

Dave i'm really sorry to hear this! :frown: I myself grew close to candy. I know just how close she really was to you and kathy and this must be VERY hard for both of you. We just recently had a close call with our yellow lab. He had a 104* fever for weeks and spent three days at the Vet with antibiotics being pumped into his leg. finally the oral antibiotics took effect and now he's doing okay. Pet's become a HUGE part of our lives and when they go it's like loosing a family member. Unfortunetly it happens and we have to deal with the loss the best we can.

Dave if there is ANYTHING Gina & I can do please give us a call..

Your family is in our prayers!

I just went through this in November, Dave. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. I cried so hard I hard everyone out of the waiting room. :o

I'm sorry for your loss. Candy will be waiting for you across the bridge.

Sorry for your loss...these creatures provide us unconditional love from the time they arrive until they leave.

Sounds like you provided a great home & life for Candy.

You are a good person !!

After a while please remember that there are lots that would like someone like you to adopt them and give them another chance. we have done that and I gives us a great feeling.

Sorry to hear Dave. Been there, done that all too recently. It's really hard to take. Time is the only thing that helps...

That's really the point of all this, more are put down because they are lacking a home. You did your part Dave... what more could you have done to take care of what was intrusted in you. Please consider taking your wife out to find another member for your family. It may be hard but, in a month or so you'll be glad you did.

I want to thank all of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It really does mean a lot to us!!!

Candy is gone to a better place now. She went to the Rainbow Bridge at 7:15 this morning. We have her (ashes) back already, and are comforted by the thoughts and prayers of all of you.

I will be conspicuously absent from the board for a day or two. I wish to take care of Kathy. She is quite inconsolable right now.

Again, thank you all.

That was a cool description.

We just pulled into Kingsport TN today for about 7 days to visit realitives, girlfriend, I and our cat, let him out and he took off and headed straight for the woods. for about 7hrs not one sign of him and we were freaking out, 100% of the time if I yelled " real beef and gravy" he would come runnin...not today.

He just showed up at dusk, and what a load off of my shoulders.

I feel for ya
