How exactly do I do this? Photos? Need 5,500 or 6,000 rpm (5,000 now).

Remove 3-4 grams from the primary governor weight with a grinder. You need an accurate scale to do this. You may want to try removing 1.5-2 grams and testing it. There are several things that can effect the shift points a little besides the governor. Usually 1 gram is 200-300 rpm.

what are the other things that can change the shift point?

how do I adjust the TV cable to raise the shift point? what will that do to the harshness of the shift?
Conrad

If your TV cable is adjust right, at or close to max. it won't affect you WOT shift points. But tightening it will affect the PT shift points & firmness.

I really appreciate all the info. I have not messed with the tranny since it was installed. Thanks.

This is correct. The TV cable should be at max at WOT so it wont have any effect on the WOT shift point. The way i described is the way i always do it. You could clip a few coils of the spring but you wont get much out of that and it may delay part throttle upshifts a little more and make the spring more prone to fly out of the governor if not retained.

sorry to hijack but
if my trans shift 5200 in second gear and 4800 in theird
when i live it shifting alone

If you want it to shift at nearly the same rpm you need to modify or replace the 2-3 shift valve spring. You can raise or lower both by altering the governor.
