After finding my rattling noise to be a stuck wastegate puck I thought I had it fixed. However, it comes back periodically. The wastegate arm will get stuck and the puck will be away from the turbo but still close enough to hit against it causing the rattling noise. I adjusted the wastegate to where it pulls the puck away from the turbo but when I build up the boost it will sometimes get stuck in the "rattle position". Is there a bushing to replace or something to keep the puck moving freely? I've tried beating it until it moves freely and WD-40ing the heck out of it but I think the heat causes it to stick. The downpipe is the ATR-303 terry-style downpipe. Anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it...short of sending it back to ATR.

I have heard of ATB DP getting stuck in the closed position. Thats bad. I had one get stuck in the open position. I thought they all get stuck. I would not messs around with it, and just send it back for a new bushing.

Yep mine does the same thing. once it got stuck closed , most of the time it rattles open. ATR knows this problem. Just call them and send it back. they are s'posed to fix it for free and send it back to you. I haven't had a chance to send it in yet so i can not tell you what they do to solve it but have spoken to reps from ATR. HTH

So what happened did you talk to atr? Or did you fix it yourself? Any updates?

I contacted ATR and they told me it was a warranty issue and they will fix it as they have all the others that had this problem. I was told it was the material used that caused this. The new material hasn't has any problems from what they told me. I sent them an e-mail on who exactly to send it to but haven't heard back since last week. I'll call tomorrow and get things straight. I kept my stock d/p and will run that until mine gets fixed.

I had my old ATR internal downpipe stick just like you have described. I spent 20.00 and shipped it to them, got it back within a week and works like it should.

I tore mine apart and tried antiseize, worked for about 25 miles, just ship it in and get a new flapper assy installed.

Works great, glad i got it fixed because it was really a pain in the butt.

As for the tinking noise,:( i went thru 3 turbos thinking it was exhaust wheels hitting the compressor housings:rolleyes:
