I currently have the "full race rebuild" from Jimmy's Transmissions in IL but am getting the 2-3 flair and at the time the car was running 10.80's @ 123. I was going to ship it back to him but he said that he honestly didn't think it would hold up in a mid-low 10 second car. So I want this trans upgraded with a t-brake (NOT the stage rite crap, I want a Bat-Brake or other button controlled brake), deep pan with sump and it must hold up in a 10.oh car at 3700lb raceweight. I have 1700 into this trans already and I know that through PTS the Bat Brake plus sump and deep pan is going to set me back about $1000 or so just for parts plus the clutches need to be replaced. I have another $1300 to spend which will bring this tranny to the $3k mark and that is my limit.

Should I ship to PTS, CK, Janis, etc? Looking for replies from guys running low 10's with a 200 who can recommend their builder. Please dont reply if you have an 11/12 second combo.

Thanks.

You should seriously look into the AOD conversion from CK performance. Or go with a turbo 400 and a gear vendors overdrive, it will hold about 1200 rwhp and with mods 2000 hp, It will probably cost you 4k or about $3500 with the AOD set up.

I have a 200 4r also that has burned up with a few 10 sec passes, just dont know what to do next, fix it or do a change as i mentioned.

my 2004r will hold up reliably in the 10 second zone.period.billet parts are standard equiptment,no need to worry.in car tested to ensure you are shipped a winner.

chris718,

From what I have now (see below), would you be able to put in a button controlled t-brake, and make the trans realiable in the 10's for $1300?

Here is what is done to my current trans, straight out of the catalog:

Front Pump
Drain back holes enlarged to prevent seal blow out, seal clip installed. 10 Vain Rotor, transgo hardened rings and slide spring for high RPM us. hardened stator support. new high pressure regulator valve and spring. new .500 TV boost valve, .300 2nd and reverse boost valves.

4th clutch
apply piston machined down to accept additional clutch plate. alto red clutches, koleen steels. stator washer modified for better lubrication.

3rd clutch
8 alto red clutches, 8 koleen steels. wide teflon drum bushing, teflon sealing rings, clutch drummachined to fit wide kevlar band, cross drilled fluid drains and welded inner liner

2nd band
alto wide kevlar with hardened lugs. billet servo piston (12% more holding capacity)

Forward drum
4130 steel input shaft. alto red clutches (no wave plate)

Valve body
Machined flat, modified for better clutch apply and holding pressure.

Case
machined flat, bronze bushing installed

sorry,we only sell complete units.try someone else they may be willing to do it.

So nobody can help or point me in the right direction? Is there no way that investing another 1300 in this trans will make it hold up?

I would consider doing your trans with the parts you have but would need to talk to you on the phone for more details.

Lonnie, Vince, or Eric at Dynotech can all help you out. All three are great people with tons of experience an use many of our parts in their work.
