Rear end choices?

Have a Currie Ford 9" rear in my GN that the original owner put in when it was new. (Don't ask me why! ) Car had 4700 on it when I bought it. Running 31 spline axles, 3.50 gears with a traction lok. Also has 11" drum brakes. For 20 lb boost launches I would recommend going with a Locker since you say you also drive it on the street.

You Already Burned Up the Posi Unit in that 9"?

Mark Williams used to sell a 12 bolt third member that bolts into a 9" ford housing that raises the pinion angle about 2 inches to reduce parasitic loss. I have a ford 9" in one of mine and now im looking a strange S-60 12 bolt. i think it might be like a dana 60 maybe full floater type with inner and outer axle bearings to put in my other GN.

I think its identical to a Dana 60 except that its made for coilspring cars aswell as leafs and it might have provisions for putting a torque arm on it. I also think all Dana and S 60's are full floating.

You Already Burned Up the Posi Unit in that 9"?

Yup! Doing my burnout at Lebanon Valley and noticed no smoke coming from the driver's side tire. Rebuilt it and the guy that did it for me shimmed the clutch packs tighter. So far so good but my racing days are pretty much over anyway. :frown:
