I'm having someone replace all of the bearings and seals in my rear end. When I shift into drive or reverse the car makes a clunking sound from the rear end. Is that something that can be fixed with shims?

Did u check your tranny mount? I know its coming from the back but u would get a noise from the driveshaft in those conditions if it was bad...

Well I got new u-joints last year. the noise got better but was still there. Jimmy's transmissions just had the trans out, and that (trans mount) is one of the things he checked specifically, and he said it was good? the whole rear end is apart right now.

Worn pinion bearing/spacer or worn ring and pinion(would have to be horribly worm) also a hashed worn/wearing out posi can do the same.

Sounds like everything is is prolly okay since its been out/done/checked recently.

later
Jeremy
