Which diff do you all prefer, the standard aurburn #542018 or the pro series #542050, car is used mainly for street use ,however , have to "teach a lesson " every now and then, there are still non belivers.

I went with the 30 spline eaton with moser axles. I was told the auburn was not rebuildable. So I would check and make sure it can be repaired without sending it back for repair. Car Craft had a big article on rear ends in one of the last couple of issuies They had all the options with info on all the carriers and told if they were rubuildable or not.

Auburn Pro. They're not rebuildable but do have some sort of replacement program. It'll last longer than I will as a fun street-only car before I need to do that.

I had a shop supposedly put in a Pro, turned out it was the standard auburn. That lasted about 1 week. I have since had the Pro in for almost 7 years, probably going to reshim and rebearing the rear end soon to check things over.
