Do you think this would be an easy fix? I really don't care about the fillers and bumper, those can be replaced. But how about the quarter? Would I need to cut it out and replace it or can it be fixed with a hammer and such? Do you think it's worth the 7.5k? And the shifters, what are those? I honestly have no clue lol.

Thanks
Nix

First off what mode were done to the motor and trans? The fact that he does not show pics of the motor is a little suspect.

Ur looken at $3-4k easily to fix that and do it right since the paint will need to be blended and it difficult to do with black but not impossible. I would not pay more the $4500 for it at best.

It's a T-Top car and they are not as desirable imo but some are perfectly fine but most leak, rattle and are cracked. It's a high mileage car to so depending on what mods he has id say $4500 on its best day and that may even be too much.

Thanks for the help Brett. Ill have to give the guy a call about the car and see what I can find out about the mods. If it will cost that much, I may just replace the tail-light and drive it until I can afford to fix the paint and quarter. Do you know what those shifters are? I think I saw them in your car? Or maybe it was a different one.. I am not sure.

Miguel, if I sent his up to you to fix, in what area would it costs just to have the quarters re-painted, repaired, and the new fillers painted? The area Brett suggested? I think if I can get it cheap enough Ill jump on it. It looks like its in good shape. Also, can I replace the hurst shifters? I really think they are ugly as hell lol.

Thanks Miguel, Ill give the guy a call and post what mods he says the car has. Ill also get the low-down on possible frame damage and other things. If the car has no rot on the floors I think I may pick it up. If it does, then no way. I can't afford fixing that right now lol. Anyways, Ill give you a call if I go look at it and if the guy is reasonable on his pricing.

COOL keep in touch. from the look of the pics the frame look ok.But pics could be decieving..:biggrin:

Just called the guy and this is what he gave me for information:

3" DP with Turbonetics WG
70 MM Throttle Body and larger plenum
It has the 2004R with upgraded corvette servos and is built
3200 Stall
It has a different Cam
Running stock turbo, but it did have a T 61 on it before (Probably why it is stalled at 3200).

So now my questions are, what is the best turbo for the 3200 Stall? Does the mods make it worth the price? Or should I be able to pick it up cheaper than what he posted? Its going to be at this swap meet.. I may go look not sure.

Those shifters go for big bucks....
For that much you could just buy Steves and not have to do bodywork...

That is true. I really like Steve's.. Especially the silver hood bulge. I just happen to look through CL and thought it might be a good idea. Hmm. So many decisions.

steve car is the way to go.and second it stay in the family..;)

Alright alright guys, Since you are so pushy. Anyways, I said I would most likely buy Steve's when I sold this quad. I am just having problems selling it. No one wants to give me the price I am looking for it.. Selling it would give me just enough to pay for insurance this year, and a little extra for some... tires if need be :D.

then give him a good deposit, so he can hold the car..

Zack, If you buy the RI GN I have a set of tail lamps. Looks like a nice car.

Bet Miguel could toss on some fillers & fix the body.. Just find out from Miguel the cost & deduct it from the sellers price.

What Brett said. On my '87 GN, the whole right rear quarter panel was replaced due to an accident my Dad had with it. Excellent job, so it can be fixed.....but.....expensive. You're looking at around $1900-$2000 for the quarter panel repair if it's replaced. Or even more....the price quoted was from 2001.

I would think it is going to cost me about 4500 to get it fixed. If I could pick it up for 3k I might jump on it. Ill call the guy tomorrow and ask if he would take 3k. If he doesn't his loss lol. I still really like your car Steve. Just so you know :p.

If you do the work yourself, its really not that much work. But a body shop would charge a lot.It looks to big to slap hammer out.You cut the seam out right below where the top of the quarter glass ends.Drill out all the spot welds. You can get a complete regal for like 500 and fix this whole car with the parts.Looks like a good car for like 5k

My thoughts EXACTLY. $4000-4500 seems fair. $3000 will probably hurt someone's feelings! Good luck

That could be a great parts car for $3k:eek::p. I'd just go with Steves car an call it a day.
