Rear main seal

Just started my engine, it ghost as been sitting for years. The rear main seal is leaking. The seal is a neoprene. Does anyone think it could stop leaking or not?

You might get lucky but its probably dried out from sitting

Does it leak all the time or just under boost?

My fresh build was leaking under boost, found a blocked valve cover breather. It is good now.

replace it with a viton seal from weber racing and be done with it..

Do you need a breather in both valve covers? My car is an '85 and I only have a breather on the driver side.

I have always run a breather on both valve covers. The passenger side was completely blocked and the drivers side had limited flow.
