Rear Main Seal ???????

OK, near the rear main seal, actually behind the rear main seal, there are two circle grooves where it actually looks like there should be a gaskets or something there. Does anything go here? or is this left empty??

From your description the area your talking about stays empty. Only items there should be the Rear main seal halves. The sides of the main cap itself get packed with RTV, just make sure you do a good job, you don't want a leak under RPM. I had to pull the cap to fix my leak.
