Hi guys my 86 GN has sprung a leak. The rear main seal was replaced not long ago and after several inspections the new seal doesn't seem to be the culpret for my leaking problem. The leak seems to be coming from the rear of my oil pan. The gasket is wet and has been squished out by someone over tightening the oil pan bolts. The all around the end of the crank, bell housing and flex plate are dry. No oil slinging and seems to drip while sitting. Which type or brand of gasket would you guys recommend? How hard is the gasket to change. It looks as if I need to lower part of my exhaust and possibly remove a motor mount bolt and raise the engine a little...Is this correct. I sure as hell don't want to raise the engine if I don't have to. Looks like an all day job with basic tools to do it right?

cork!!! and all you have to do is drop the pan nothing else. just have to fenesse the pan and might have to rotate the crank to have the crank weight out of the way and then you might have to remove the pickup tube. but it could be a day job it took 3 hrs to do on mine

Thanks guys, doesn't look too tough. It has a rubber gasket on it now and the rear of the pan leaks like crazy. Rear main looks good to me, just a drip the crank isn't throwing any oil at all. Bell housing is also clean. Will I have to remove the cross over pipe, sure looks like it will be in the way? Nice to know what I will be getting into before I replace the gasket. Thanks again, I truely appreciate the help.

Thanks again guys, Just ordered a cork gasket from Kirban. Are you guys using gasket sealer? My past experience says no, but I thought I would ask.
