850 HP,shifting at 6,800 rpm,400 trans- manual shift, adjustable tourque convertor,28" tall tire, car w/me in it - 3725# and I would like to clear the traps at 6,800 rpm - 1/4 mile. I have 342's now, with a spool. The car does not 60" well, nor does it pull thru the traps hard, it struggles near the end with some 13% torque convertor slippage..I am thinking the problem is related to the engine power/ shift point vs the rear end gear ratio. What recommendations are available here? Thanks Larry

3710#, 840FWHP, 65-6600 trap rpm,t-400, 28" tires, hi 9's @141... All with the stock 3.42 gear.[true street car].
poor short time could be a number of things:
1. Tires.
2. Suspension.
3. Engine tune.
4. Converter performance. [Mine was too tite, resulting in 1.5 60's, but low slip]
B4 I started changing gears, I'd take a look at that converter slip. Maybe, call Dusty Bradford, and discuss???

Adjustable convertor?? An FB ??
