Red VS Tweak

Here's my personal experiences as my current car is about as stock as you can get except for turbo, exhaust, IC and fuel system mods......

Very rich vs dead on.

I've run RA chips in the past. They were very rich and needed a lot of boost. Even the 93 octane chips that I tried with 3 different sized injectors.

First time I ever tried an Eric TT chip, it was dead on out of the box with zero changes to the tune.
Just my O2s' worth.

For a DD, the TT is the way to go. I've had both, and with the TT the car is smooth as glass. I don't have enough racing experience to comment on which is best there.

TT chip = New school
Newer codes, user programmable, custom, and SERVICE!

Unsure of the RA chip is programable but I have heard they are really rich.
If you really want it rich, just program your TT chip to get it there.

You can't beat a TT chip!

Exactly, I used a Red's 93 chip for years, it ran very rich, I popped in a Turbo Tweak chip and it never ran and idled so good.

turbo tweak 2/10ths faster on my basic stock setup....i have used reds 93 and the turbo tweak....much prefer the TT. however, fastest chip in my car is an old hypertech stage ll......everyone laughs at them but high timing characteristics make a stock set up run pretty quick.

use to run red's chip back in the day. once TT chips came out gave them a try and love them.

2/10ths faster on my basic stock setup....

That made me spit soda out of my nose

I have about ten old Buick catalogs (poston, bowlingreen, zero to sixty, kenne bell, art-carr and the list goes on) and the one thing every catalog has in common is that every product guarantees "2/ths of a second and 2 MPH.

I will be ordering a TT very soon and I will let you know what I think of it once it’s in.

Yes you are right, stock setups love timing :D Especially when your running E-85

You know I really hate threads like this. This vs that. However am I running one of TT stock chips for alky injection in my E-85 car( with no alky injection ) and all I can say is wow. The damn chip isn't even for my car and its awesome. Can't wait till I get the new E-85 chip from TT :D

I've been running his chips for years. Years ago, I was one of the first to try out his 42 lb chip that completely got rid of the tip in stumble, a common problem with those injectors no matter who's chip you ran.

It has been said before and I'll say it again, Eric puts a lot of time into his chips and it shows..nuff said
Also the fact that Steve Yaklin lets Eric take care of the ME stuff now, should also tell you something

You won't be sorry.... Eric spends literaly hours upon hours just sitting in his car tuning....he wants it all.... crisp throttle response... good idle... and great WOT.....his attention to detail is what makes his chips superior IMHO.

For those of you that don't know.... (semi-short version) ... it goes something like this.......he started out with "other" chips in his own car.... wasn't happy.......moved on to a FAST (I think).... (now the older FAST "classic") ....when it was real difficult to get it exactly like he wanted.... (the older systems didn't have IAC.... etc)..... he figured out what made our stock chips tick...... he ditched the older fast in favor of one of his own chips....he has been cutting chips ever since.....the rest...they say... is history....

Enjoy.

Ive had a couple chips custom for my car (before it was my car) one stage 3 from ANS, a stage 2 from somewhere else and the stocker... Not one of them beats the driveability and idle (open loop idle) of the TT 93 chip I have now. Can't really comment on richness of a stock injector chip since they all pretty much max out the injector dutycycle anyway (even stock from what i've heard), but at least with the TT you can pull that little bit of extra fuel out if needed (say, when using methanol.) Plus it's nice to be able to play with the timing if you want to add some for low boost or methanol.

Another happy TT customer here.

Reds always seemd too rich down low, idle was rough, cold start issues, etc.

The TT is way more refined..My 02
