Finally got the GN running again over the past weekend. Have not really put any miles on it since last year. Put in a Hofer Tranny (Which, although I haven't really gotten on it, seems EXCELLENT), braided oil cooler hoses, braided turbo drain hose, new B&M tranny cooler w/fan, torquetech DS, and replaced a cracked passenger manifold that nearly came out in two pieces. Drove it to work this morning and was reminded why I continue to pour $ into it. What a blast! Don't know how much that cracked manfold was holding me back or the slipping tranny, but man! What a rush when it's running right!!! Smooth idle, spools a ton better, and haven't even gone past 10# yet...

It was almost to the point of seeing it in the garage up on jackstands making me want to sell it.....After today, no chance of that!;)

:) Glad I could help you get that "feeling" back!

I know exactly what you mean. Until you get back behind the wheel, and things go right... You just wonder why you spend the money.

Brian

Hey Brian! A few guys from work begged for a ride, and scared the **** outta them!  ;) !!! Haven't gotten it past 20# and will not try the T-Brake until I have the rear end girdle on, but this tranny is AWESOME!!!!! Has been a while since I've gotten this much adenaline from driving the GN:cool:

Good way to sum it up. These cars aren't exactly fun when they're sitting in the garage taken apart sucking money from your wallet. Gotta get them on the road to slap that big grin back on your face.

i also just got my running again. man is it a blast. i just need to put the damn sound deadening back in

Roc

glad to hear she's up and running you ought to come by and scare the c@#$ out of me. Sounds nice what convertor you using the old one or did you upgrade? Did you do your own braided lines or were they pre fab? As I'd like to get rid of them old lines myself. Roc You think mid 11's at 1 mile high altitude with the Hofner tranny rebuild?

Mid 11's should be attainable. I did the 11.87 on C16 and a PT51, did the 11.92 with Razors Alky and the 51. Both runs the car had a huge crack in the passenger manifold, I think it's been there the past 30k miles, it's nice to have the motor so quiet, and spool that turbo so quick! Don't know how long the tranny had been flaring/slipping. Now with the PT61, the good tranny, and a 28" tall tire, I'm hoping that I'm politely asked to leave the track:D .

It's the same converter, from PTS, it's a 9/11 3000-3200 stall. With no cracks in the manifolds I can feel the stall, never could before. And I picked up the braided hoses from Johns Performance.

Congrats on getting it running Boost231! Fun when they are "right"! What all sound deadening had been taken out?

Roc are you selling your old turbo? The braided tranny lines how much did that set you back? Eric send me your phone # via pm my son deleted it off the cell phone. Congrats also Boost 231 just re-read posts, good to see yours is up and running in that nice Arizona heat.

Sorry, the 51 went to Sylvan (east mountain area). Was planning on stepping up to a ballbearing 67, but have to keep saving, the tranny took my "turbo $"
No, the braided hoses are for the stock oil cooler. I had to buy new tranny cooler lines, but just bought the OEM replacements from Classic Tube and hooked it to a B&M Cooler
