Hey all, I've begun to gut my interior of the '84 Grand National aka T-type w/ Grand Nat'l pkg. Well, I've got the seats out, center console out, and carpet out.

I want to remove the dark gray dash to install the 87-style dash that is the lighter gray color. I see several screws/bolts up top by the dash speakers that look like they're holding it in, but where else should I look?

I don't want to hack this dash apart, I just want to remove the proper screws, install my new dash, and that's it. What should I do after I remove the steering wheel and other objects that will get in the way?

Thanks:confused:

There used to be instructions over at gnttype.org but I couldn't find them. Short run down on R&R.
First remove top speaker grille, radio,AC control, gauge cluster and gauge surrond. Disconnect the remote trunk release wire at the switch,RH remote mirror control, and unbolt the fuse box from the firewall. Also unhook the 2 harness on the engine side at the C100 connector and disconect the ECM plugs behind the glove box. Drop the steering column by removing 2 15mm headed nuts and a 10mm and 13mm headed bolts from the steering column reinforcement that is right above the column. Disconnect all the wires that attach to the column. Pull the brake light and cruise release switches at the brake pedal and the park brake wire at the control.Disconnect the rear body wire harness at the fuse box. Remove 4 7mm headed screws at the base of the windshield and 3 10mm screws at the bottom(1-LH,1-RH,1 under the radio pod) and everything should come out as an assembly with the wire harness attached the the dash pad. There may be a wire or two that I missed but you'll get the idea. Transfer your wire harness over to your new pad and reverse the procedure to install. Fisrt time around will be a 3-4 hour job.Good luck.
