replacement alternator?

I replaced the AC compressor with one from a 5.7L 89 TTA. The pulley looked a little different but the belt still fit fine.

What about the alternator? Can we use the 5.7L alternator also, because I'd like to get a chromed one and finding one for the 3.8L is pretty difficult.

Alternators.

The GM Delco remanufactured unit part # is 321-386.. they are around $110 wholesale.. but are a specifically listed unit for mainly 89's. Heres the interchange.

SouthEast Turbo sells a chrome one. The chrome on mine was very good.

It's around $300.

Excuse me ozpont, I read that he wanted a chrome alternator and that is what I was addressing. I don't think yer gonna buy a chromed alternator for $110.0 but hey, I've been wrong before.
