I'm going to change my toque converter soon but have the trans filled with about $130 worth of amsoil atf. I don't want to dump it out since it has not been in there long.

Is there a plug or anything I can get to stick in the tailshaft and TV cable bore that will allow rod to go inside? I know GM has them on the tranny's when the come from GM for shipping. Not sure where I can find a few? Want to R&R trans without loosing too much fluid..

Thanks!

A Trans Shop should have some.
If you have an old 27-spline Slip Yoke you can use it for the rear.
Could also disconnect the TV cable at the TB instead of Trans to keep that hole plugged.
Don't forget as the vehicle sets, fluid will drain out of the TC into Pan so the fluid level may be high. Probably need to jack up the rear of Trans before removing the DS to prevent fluid spilling while installing Plug/Yoke etc..

Any auto parts store should have them. I got one from Autozone a couple of years ago. NAPA stores stock them also.
