 well i think i got in over my head changing head gaskets turned into a full front restoration ended up pulling motor and tranny to get rebuilt. well then i ripped off whole suspension the the fenders, bumpers, rad support, and hood now all i have left is two frame pieces. FUNNY HOW PROJECTS ALWAYS END UP A BIG THING. so i guess ill clean and paint whole frame and replace every bolt in suspension with stainless bought a new front end kit and springs will powdercoat them and paint rad support should look AWESOME next year i will pull body off would do this year but i want to be done in spring will post pictures soon!!!!!!!!!!

Convo Owner (10 of 'em)
what mods do you need with them any spacers and what tire could you use also how about front 6" or 7" with 3 3/8

I'm not a proponent of skinny fronts for the street - hence I'd recommend 7" w/ 3.375" BS and either 215/65s (ie. stock size) or 235/60s (a bit wider), depending on the look and handling you're trying to achieve.

On the rears I have 28.0/10.5-15 slicks on the 8.5"s and 2 air bags. There are a few different options (street-wise) here, but bags will pretty much insure that you won't have to concern yourself with tire rubbing on the quarters, unless you choose rear tires that are "stupid" wide, or something is amiss suspension-wise.

I have a saying which is that if you think it's too big (eg. rear tires), it most definitely is. People cause themselves so much pain and expense with stupid wheel and tire choices. Here, let common sense take over, and you'll do the right thing.

Well, 7" w/ 3.375" BS with the front tire sizes I suggested will work fine. Did I understand you correctly? What front wheels and tires are you presently running?

picture of resto.

heres what i did so far stripped frame to bare metal no suspension need to pull motor this weekend to finish stripping firewall heres my heads i ported and polished

Wish ya luck i'm almost done with mine 3 mos late and $6k down the friggin tube but it'll look good. Didn't pull the motor though i did have to pull my heads one had a cracked intake valve that upon trying to escape up the exhaust valve it cracked the head also, oh well its a labor of love or hate not sure which though ;) .Good Luck!

Did you say, "stainless" on your suspension? Stainless doesn't have near the shear strength for a suspension/body mount application. Go back with OEMs or grade 8s(at least). Losing just about any bolt in your suspension at speed(or in a corner) could ruin an otherwise perfect day ;) !!

heres with my car all buttoned up and waiting for the heart transplant redid frame and replaced the suspension also did you guys see the front brace above my swaybar i dont know where they bought it at. i always thought that they go under rad support. this one bolts above my swaybar
