if my retirement date is Sept. 13, when do I get my 1st check? October or November?

The navy ran out of money.. You'll not be receiving a check from them. Your $$ will come in the form of a "redistribution allowance". It can be identified by the signature..."Yours truly",

If you have the papers in and approved. They should have sent you a notice of how much, and when it will be deposited.

SS Benefits

If you are referring to Social Security benefits, you will need to be 62 for a period of a month before becoming eligible. So if your birthday is Sept. 13, you must be 62 for one month before eligibility. Expect first SS check November. Check with SS Admin. for verification of the above info. AS a senior citizen, I may not be totally on the mark, having memory lapses and all.

I retired at 58 but will be filing this June for SS . Sold a house in Nevada in 2006 for twice what i paid. Moved to a small town in Kansas and paid cash for my little 1930's house.
