reverse lights come but no tail lights. What is the problem?

Guys, thanks for all your suggestions. I found the problem. the connector in the trunk was reversed. My brother-in-law spotted it. We unplugged it, turned it 180 degrees and plugged it in and everything works. It made sense since that the different colored wires should match to the same color wire on the female plug. I can't believe I did not notice this because I looked at it a dozen times. Sometimes it just takes another set of eyes to see something different than you see it. Thanks again, now I can move on to get this car on the road.
