I would REALLY like to retain the 200R4 if possible, but I have little faith in the TV cable and adjustments to it.
I'd much rather run a manual VB and hopefully the trans will live longer, running the higher pressures.

I know TCI makes them, but 2 things I don't like about the TCI units.

1) No trans brake

2) No 3rd gear pressure switch (4th only) I think for gear specific fuel/timing control, this 3rd gear switch would need to function ?

I bought one of these VB's a couple years ago, but the trans was already gone, so it made little difference. The install was a snap though...

Any advice or suggestions ???

I'd be disassembling and checking out any new manufactured valves and sleeves that may be in the valve body. In the past, so called 'converted for GN use valve bodies', the clearances were outrageous. I hope their machining tolerances have improved. An acceptable valve to bore clearance is .0005".

I have modified this Vb many times. Just add a 3rd pressure switch. Forget a trans brake on the VB. I tried to skin that Cat 10 years ago. We are not close enough but have Griner working on a Billet Reverse Manual VB with pro brake for 2004R on the drawing board.

I posted a question over on the Turbo Tweak forums... and Eric replied with an answer that made me happy...;)

He said his gear specific timing and fueling chip adjustments are controlled by the VSS... and the tranny pressure switches are a non-issue.

Cool then that VB will get the job done. The manual VB takes out all the bull crap.
