To all those who helped in the past ...thanks so much. I think I finally figured out my knock problem. It was a combo of two things.....The minor thing was the TPS was only set to 4.30 at wot...so i guess i never saw PE mode. I set it to 4.76...and it helped very insignifacantly. The major problem was (drumrole please)....
Bad vdo fuel pressure rail guage. It was set at 44psi hose off throughout this whole time. I decided to check it with a real snap-on guage. It said 31psi. My vdo was off by 13psi. So all this time....fp was way lower than I thought. Thurned it up...got a new gueage....all knock went away (12lbs boost) :)
Lesson learned: check the obvious...even if it appears correct.

You were in PE mode, just may not have been getting full wot fueling - it adds more and more fuel as the tps rises. However, in the stock and most aftermarket chips the fueling is all in by about 4.25-4.3 V so that should have been okay. As for rail mounted fuel gauges, I've only seen one last past nine months on a street car, and I've seen at least three fail within six months - some liquid filled, some not. If you have to have a permanently installed gauge, use a 3' hose to isolate the gauge from the engine vibration, and wrap the gauge in foam rubber and lay it on the driver's side fender by the master cylinder. You can use a can coozy, or whatever those 12 oz soda can insulators are called.

Thanks ijames

Thanks ijames...that seems like a good idea. This was the second guage i had fail so far.
