I've been going through mine this winter to get it drivable, as it's sat for years upon years. The major problems have all been fuel related so far. My list:
Fuel tank- dropped it. Total junk, is completely rusted out from the inside, had about an 1/8 of rust flakes in the bottom. Outside looks like new. Replaced with a new one.
Pump and sock filter-junk replaced with Walbro
Fuel filter-replaced NOS GM
Cleaned all the lines from the front of the engine to the back with brake cleaner through them and air. You can't believe the nasties that came out.
Next up is the injector rail, injectors, and regulator. When taking the lines off to clean them, I could look inside the rail, and it's totally gunked up, so i'm assuming once it's off it will be horrible.
The charcoal canister system lines were also plugged up. Had to blow them out. The evap solenoid on the canister was also not working till I jolted it to life frankenstein-style by hitting it with an overboost with the battery charger directly to the solenoid. Works perfect now.
Once that's done, i'll attack the cooling system next. After that, brakes, then transmission. Kinda the order of my problems. I would assume yours wouldn't be much different. Likely better since it's only sat for 5 years.
Since it's winter, i can relax and take my time, so it hasn't been a chore at all, in fact, enjoyable.:redface:
