having a problem with my gn. i got the car a couple of months ago so i am new to turbos and computer controled engines. i had to get the motor for car got it put in and running. the car is running very rich. at start up it has black smoke comming out of tail pipes. after warm up it runs a very hi idle. about 2g
after test driving car i got a 23 error. replaced the mat sensor. i also replaced the o2 sensor. i still got the 23 error so i replaced the tps. that fixed the 23 error but getting a 22 error because i have not set the postion of tps yet. i have a stock chip from turbotweak. stock inj street 93.
the car will also start running very pooly suputers and almost dies. if i turn off car and restart it fixes it. it reports no code with this. i checked fuel pressure it is 32 pounds idle 45 with no vacume. the only thing i am not for sure about is if i have stock injectors. the numbers on inj are d1720ba fj24 1783. they have a blue ring around them. are these stock or aftermaket replacements and would i have to replace prom. is this causing my rich condetion.

Can't help ID the injectors but check all your vacuum lines and around your plenum and vacuum block for leaks where it could be sucking air. Also check each injector on the intake side, you could have some bad o-rings and the engine is sucking air around the injector. A vacuum leak will cause it to run way rich. A scan tool wll help you find the problem by watching the blm's.

I went ahead and did a search on them and looks like you might have 42.5# inj. I would say you have a problem if you have a chip burned for stock injectors. Run a search on the first set of numbers and you will come up with other posts on it. The MAF can be another culprit when it comes to a rich condition. I'm currently battling the same issue myself. Get a scantool on there and post some numbers. Dusty no flame intended but I think vacuum leaks cause a lean condition instead of a rich one. :)

Not sure if your injectors are blue top or blue stripe and don't know the difference between these. Here is a listing.

1--28# STOCK- BOSCH
2--30# GRN-STRP-TOMCO
3--36# BLUETOP-BOSCH
4--40# RED-STRP-TOMCO
5--43# GRN-STRP-TOMCO
6--50# M.S.D.

i did take the time to set my tps the 22 is now gone and not getting any codes. i still not for sure what the injectors are so far i have been told they are 32 38 45 pound injectors. the pictures on gnttyp do not match what i have. the blue on injector is a strip about the center of injector. car is runnng so rich that i can see the gas gauge drop. the part number on the side match a tompco 33 pound inj but it does not look like it. need to figure out what i have so i can get the right chip.

A couple things to check would be===

IAC motor. What do you have for IAC values at idle/neutral, and idle in drive.

Vacume leaks, as Dusty mentioned

FP numbers don't seem right. To go from 45psi static, to 32psi w/vacume line connected is huge. My FP drops around 4-5psi when vacume is connected. Brian
