Hi Guys, I am trying to determine if a 86 GN that I just purchased has been lowered. Does anyone have the dimensions from the Ground up to the wheel molding. I need the measurement for one front and one rear wheel. Thank You, John
I just checked in an original '87 Buick Regal sales pamphlet ('86 should be the same) and they say that the car's overall height is 54,6"...Compare this with your car's overall height (measured at the car's highest point which should be in the middle of the roof!...) and it should help you in finding out if your car is lowered or not...Hope this helps!
86 GNs sit about 1" lower than 87s. With stock 26" tall tires the car will probably sit around 26-26.75 up front and 27- 27.5 in the rear. These measurements are from the ground to the top of the fender lips. I can measure my dads 86 the next time i get up there.

The ground to top of the roof is 54.5. The best that I can measure it. It is hard to get the roof point.
Front wheel opening is 25.5. The back opening is 26 3/8.
The tires are 245/50/16 on GNX wheels. TireRack says the tires are 25.7.
By looking at the pictures, I'd say your car is at stock height...or very close to it...The car's height should be 54.6" according to GM, so it doesn't really matter which tires you have as long as the overall height remains at 54.6".
