Got a RJC power plate for Christmas thanks to the wife. Should I drill it for the EGR or not? pros/cons

Simple answer

If you still use the EGR valve operation, drill it out. Only way I wouldn't drill it is if the EGR has been disabled by welding it closed.

uh oh, i left mine normal even though it had a functional egr. What problems can I expect? Should I drill it?

If you have emissions testing like we do here in CA you need to get it drilled, otherwise don't worry about it.

Boy am I glad I found this thread....I just ordered a PP....What do you guys do just hold it up to the intake and mark it, then drill it close to the same size?? Or just not worry about it?? I'm in Delaware and when I leave here I'm going back to Indiana where there is NO emissions testing, it's pretty lax in Delaware to although you still have to pass.

You line the supplied gasket up to the holes in the plate and trace out the square for the EGR valve opening in the gasket.

Then you drill the hole in the plate inside the box you just made.

About 5 minutes if you have a drill handy. ;)

Otherwise you just follow the supplied instructions. :D

Many of the modern chips do not use egr, such as me, ext. chip, etc. if your chip doesn't use it, then you don't need to drill it. If you do, all you have to do is drill a 3/8" hole per the RJC instructions. If you can't do that in 10 seconds by eyeballing it, put down the drill and call a pro. :D

slightly off topic..............

I felt for the $55 I paid for it I shouldn't have to drill/modify anything. I also felt that there should be a choice of plates for guys with or without EGR. My worthless .02's of course. Drew:)
