Summer at last , testdrive in hot stop and go traffic . Tempgauge steady at 160, used to hit 200+.
Steve V had a video on Youtube
showing a radiator he ordered from Rock Auto, seemed like a low cost solution for my overheating problem.
Installation was easy, had to modify the rubber cushions some. Oil cooler lines fitted direct, trans cooler lines need adapters.
Must have lost 15 lbs from the front end, stock radiator is heavy !!
Rock Auto part# APD 8010683
Trans cooler adapters,Speedway Motors had them part #910-3184-1/2

I can't remember how I did it but the two bolts that hold the top of the fan to the radiator hold down bracket can be adjusted so you can get your fan closer to the rad , its not much but it being closer does help in the cooling .

That radiator works with the intrepid fans.fits perfect an keeps it kool!

My car will sit at 189-193 in hot traffic. I've been wondering if there's an effective fix for that.

Did you just replace the radiator or did you replace the stock fan ?
Only the radiator.
The temp was 77 F when I tested it.
If you live in a hotter climate you can propably add the Intrepid fans.
It would still be a budget solution.

I have a 185 stat. My temps are in the range of 180-195. I think that's perfect!

I got the all aluminum one off rock auto. Only complaint was the fitting location for the oil cooler just actually went into the coolant tanks, So I put brass plugs into them instead of the plastic ones it came with and ran a oil cooler in front.

I know this is beating a dead horse but who has one to drop in that ever things fits without breaking the bank ?

Just did the fbody radiator autozone for the radiator and the Kirban fan kit with relay. Did the job very well with my temps. And easy install

f body works the same as the plastic tank GN replacement but it's not "drop in".

Correct. Will need to get coolers and a couple thing will need adjusting but quite easy and half the cost. Figured if the radiator went bad lifetime warranty

How much for the fbody radiator?
Rock Auto rad cost $ 165.79 and 2 adapters for the trans cooler, they cost a couple of bucks.
Complete with engine and transcoolers.

I already had a transcooler. Bought an b&m super cooler. For the oil cooler.
