I am getting the run around from ARP with rod bolts that stripped out of my stock rods. It comes down to me getting different rods, have them resized and now I want to use rod bolts other than ARP. Has anyone used any others and what results have you had with them.

Thanks,
Glenn

Pioneer is a company that makes all kinds of bolts. I have their rod bolts and main studs in my motor. They are a much larger company than ARP. My engine builder uses Pioneer. They really know alot about parts and such, and is a member of AERA. The way I see it, a 190,000 psi rating is a 190,000 psi rating no matter who makes it.

Craig,

Would you happen to have any part numbers or info on how to purchase them.

I am a little leary about buying my engine parts from India. Have you dealt with this company before??

Calling Indian Metallurgy Experts

Personally, I have not...some on the board have, and their posts are in the archives.

So, I can not say "Use 'em...don't worry about it."

I first used ARP products around 1970...they made a SB & BB
Chevy rod bearing/cap pinning kit that saved many motors back in the day. And, I've used their head & main cap stud kits in all my motors...w/o fail in any aspect. All I've seen & heard about them has been positive.

However, nothing manmade, or assembled by humans is consistently "perfect", and you've had a tough & costly experience due to that reality. I understand how you feel right now. However, don't confuse the jerk you've dealt with so far at ARP with the company or its products overall. I don't tolerate
such *#@# and you shouldn't either, from anyone. Believe me, someone at a higher level at ARP does care about customer relations.

I wish I could tell you how to resolve this immediately or tell you "Forget ARP...Company "X" is just as good."

All I can offer is the above, & hope you keep the rest of us posted.

HTH :)
