In searching this question , nowhere did I find it written which way the offset is placed.
Shorter sides of rods go toward each other like in above pic ?
Take not of the rod caps in the picture..... notice that the champher on the odd numbered caps faces forward, and the champhers on the even numberd caps face rear of block.
This all assumes of course that you kept the rods and caps in the proper orientation when you tore it all down, and the proper cap found its way to the proper rod and in the popper orientation.
That's my block btw. still in the assembly process.
Here's two pictures that show it better. Notice the even numbered rods have the offset oriented to the front, and the odd numbered rods have the offset orieneted to the rear of the block.
