Getting a set of heads rebuilt and ported/polished (Guy doing them says they'll flow as well as champion irons) and figured I'd do a roller cam at the same time. I have a PT61 turbo and a PTS 2800 (I think) 9/11 converter. I live in the one county in NM that has to pass emissions so that's a factor as well. Was thinking I'd get a 212/212, but would consider a 206/206. Which would you all suggest? It's 99% street car, ran a 11.55@118 with stock heads/cam in Abq, would be nice to hit 10's

Boost was 29#, a/f was 10.8:1 with the dual nozzle meth, timing at 22°. Some reason my GN never liked much timing

I bet you will be able to run that with 5 less psi with the heads and cam.

I love my 206 roller but my build is mostly stock with updated parts. For a bigger turbo I would go a little bigger. I am not really up on the latest offerings but I would go somewhere near a 210/214 or so.

I've got similiar combo 212/212 comp roller with a PT-61. Its also a 99% street car.
Great drivability and lots of power at relatively low rpms.. No complaints here..:)

I have the 206/206 roller and it drives like stock but makes good power everywhere. As you can see by my dyno sheet it peaked around 4800 but still made well over 500 rwhp all the way to 5500.

Thanks for the thoughts guys, I spoke with Cottons today and decided to go with their Comp 206/206 roller kit, 1.55 T&D roller rockers. Hope my Buick Motor sport valve covers have clearance! Can't wait to get the car running right again!!

You still have to pass emissions with a car older than 25? Most states consider them collector cars.

Yep, 1979 & newero_O , another reason I want to move out of this desert. This year they even made me test my '01 F250 (Diesel)
I need to move about 1 mile north and I'd be out of the only county that has emissions!

Are you running the PAC 1201 springs?

No it's the beehive springs, I wonder if that's contributing to the curve at the top dropping off. ?? Still over 500rw up to 5500.

well you done picked but wanted to throw this to you. I am running a 210 210 roller from Dan at dls and have not complaints on it at all . Ran 11.77 at only 17lbs of boost

I have a 210 210 roller and love it. Stock heads and 2800 stall. Also in Delaware I have to pass emissions. I fill up with e85 and change the chip passes with no problem that's with no cat

Back in the early 90's, in Wayne county Michigan and maybe several other counties we had to pass emissions. I remember trying to certify my 1978 Caprice Classic, this was in 1993. However, that is the last year I remember having to cert. emissions. Apparently because the entire state, all counties, were not required enough people complained and out the window with emissions testing for all:p
