If you have reservations @ a decent rate--you better have something in writing!!!!!! They are changing their rates after you make them.

I have Rooms at the Best Western for $89.00 a night.

The Bryce Inn is a nice alternative, family owned and $59.00 a night.

Bryce Inn

Econo lodge

In my case Econo lodge--quoted me a price of $44 per. I called yesterday to add a day and was told my rate is now $69. Altho I had a com. # I had nothing in writing or E-mail that gave a rate that I was given 4 weeks ago when I made the res. I have filed a complaint. Not highly optimistict as to a positive outcome. Last year News Inn (where our Indiania chapter has always stayed) jumped our rate to $89 per. And they were not near a sale out any of the nites. There are 2 things that burn my ass--stuff like this and a flame about 3 feet high. May sleep in my truck this year.

Lee, with the economy like it is, Im betting that there'll be many unsold rooms this yr. So many, that you may be able to just walk in and get the "good guy rate".
I say that after watching the finals at the NHRA Winternats.. WOW! One could have fired a cannon down the bleachers, and hit noone.
I also see that several of thier events have no title sponsors listed on the website....Another sign folks are "pulling in thier horns"..
I'm planning to go, and will just use the "walk in and ask" idea. I may end up sleeping in my truck, too!

I posted in last thread that I can book a timeshare, 2 bed room complete with kitchen and the works on a golf course for about 100 per person per night with no response, yes its 20 miles out but beats some flea bag motel

Chuck, the daytona 500 was sold out even the end field, the economy like it is? the casinos here are full thursday, friday, and saturday, and lots of people the rest of the week, any good resturant and some not so good you have to wait in line to get a table, where are the people getting the money if so many people are broke and out of work? i dont understand,im just too dumb,:frown: see you in bg, oc,

OC, the announcers said that Daytona tickets didn't sell out til Saturday afternoon, and the only ones left, were in the infield. I guess folks waited til they could get a bargain price, and then showed up... Don't know.
Restaurants around here aren't crowded.. Guess it's all the rich farmers up there!! :O)
