I am replacing the deck lid on one of my cars and was wondering if there is a easy way to remove the code tag without ruining it. I am sure someone has had to do this and can give me a tip or two. thanks!

My post was in the tech section then it got moved and I didn't get a chance to reply to the 2 posts that were on it! If you posted a reply please put it up again-thanks.

I replied & took mine off in about 93-94? I was making a book folder about my car. Anyways, I just slowly peeled it off. There is still a glue outline where it came off so I know Exactly where it was. I started on one corner & went slowly. They are pretty tough altho its many years ago & yours may be more brittle by now? maybe a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the glue up?

I will call them if I can't save mine. Before I try getting it off, I am going to write down all the codes that are listed on it. Thank you Miguel.

A friend of mine had also said to try a heat gun, but to use low heat. Thanks!

You removed your RPO label just to put it in a book? Wouldn't taking a photo work for that?
