My friend bought a used saab which has been sitting for a while. The battery went dead and now the radio has locked and the code is nowhere to be found. I called the dealer and they want $30 to look it up. I don't even think the radio is worth that! Is there a way to make ths work or maybe someone here works at a saab dealership? Had to ask before spending money on such a stuiped thing. Thanks.

Call another Saab dealer and ask what information they need. Usually you need to pull the radio out and get a serial number off it. That number along with the VIN number from the car should be enough for any dealership to get you the code. Pull the radio out and have the number ready for them with your next call.

I had the same problem on a SAAB I had a couple of years ago....If I remember correctly, the code should be in the manual, if not I think you might have to go to the dealership.....

yes, it was supose to be in the manual. But guess what No manual. LOLOL. I will call other dealers today and see how much they charge. Thank you for the help.

I'm not sure for Saab's, but sometimes theres stickers in the glove box, console, etc with the code/stereo s# on it....... keep in mind the radio only allows a few trys before it locks down.....
as mentioned before, get the stereos s# (in case it was swapped out before, then the Vin # is NO good) . have this info ready, and ASK TO SPEAK TO PARTS>>>>>>
p.s. i always put the code on the stereo in small numbers on the stereo once i find the number.....pull it out, maybe youll get lucky...
