Scam or Not?

This guy named thermo13teen said that a guy named SRGN had an exhaust system for sale bu he didn’t answer on here bu to contact him through an email which I did and supposbly SRGN answered and told me he had the part and how much was I willing to pay so we agreed to 425 and to send through PayPal as friends and family he kept in contact bu I knew something didn’t feel right so I canceled and told him I will only do goods and services and I would pay the extra fee bu he doesn’t want to deal with me no more has anybody ever made transactions or contact with people named above ? I have pic and emails to prove the conversation.

If you offer to pay the fee and they refuse, its a scam. I never buy anything, friends and family. Ever. Worth the 2.5% fee.

The scams seem to PM you and say “so and so” has the part you’re looking for, never naming the part and you should email the “so and so”.
I think you just saved yourself some headaches.

Maybe they search everyone's past posts and chats, amd if they see an email or cell# they'll try to contact that way. If they post on a open chat another member may realize it's a scam before the person thye are trying to scam. If they PM no one will see it except the member.

I had a PM sent to me a few years ago when I was looking for TA33-C, same thing...private message with an email to contact a buddy via email. I knew it was too good to be true. When I asked for pictures of the turbo they basically took them from other sites that were selling the turbos. I had been doing my own research so I knew that the pics were copied.

Be safe guys........way to many scammers.

SRGN hasn't been active since 9/23 with an engine wanted ad.
This member, thermo13teen, has posted a reference to questionable ad that may be a ghosted ad.
Thermo13 could easily just give you another IP using SRGN name. You may be corresponding with the same guy!
Given SRGN is not responding on the forum I'd consider the deal to be bogus and walk away.
Another clue: Friends and family pay. NEVER!!

That's not my email address. Please PM me any and all contact information for the individual claiming he's me. With any luck he'll be in the US and inside my jurisdictional boundaries.

Please PM me the information you have. I don't take kindly to impersonators, if they knew me and what I do, they wouldn't be stupid enough to try this.

I don't get on here much anymore, thanks for the clarification. If you could PM me any information you have regarding the individual impersonating me, I'd appreciate it. IP may be helpful, especially if they used a few different ones, it can help me pinpoint general location using various tools that are available for investigators.
