I recently purchased an 87 Turbo T and am currently going though it to see what I have and what all has been done. It has a Scanmaster installed and in verifying the wiring it has the white wire connected to the ALDL connector but also has a wire spliced to it going to the ECM. Ok to just delete the wire to the ECM?

to the op
if you have a scanmaster 2.1 and it shows 2.1 on display when powered up ...the white goes to the aldl ( E)or the ecm at A8
no need to have the white wire connected to aldl plug and ecm ...its the same
if you have a powerlogger (and a scanmaster 2.2 chip installed in the scanmaster ) you should make use of the faster data stream from it and connect white wire to the to the aux block scm terminal

I just looked up the Powerlogger installation instructions and see now that it would be obvious if I had one. I do not.

Looks like it goes into pin D-11 on the 32 pin connector. Which according to my info is a “not used” terminal.

Unless it goes into C-11 which would be the air temp terminal.

What wire is the red wire spliced to on the SM?

Perhaps Pace will know more.

I see now that there's numbers on the connectors. While my wire colors don't match the diagram above, my spliced in red wire to the Scanmaster is on pin D11.
