Maybe a dopey question but here goes.I go to my T.P.S setting on my scamster and of coarse it reads the setting( lets say 44) but how do I get it to read the Volts (range Value)? I'am still new at my my scanmaster.
Thanks

Thanks Rick but how do I find it on my own scanmaster? Range Value, volts? Maybe I'm not wording this right. I set the TPS setting on my scanmaster. I reads 44. How do I get it to read Volts. 0-5.00 volts...... You know what I mean?

the scanmaster should read .42 when not pressing the gas pedal.

** with the engine off, key on ** you can press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and see how high the TPS reading will go, it should go to 4.60 to 4.80 or so, the exact reading is not critical, but it should be within this range.

to adjust these settings, you adjust the "TPS" throttle position sensor, its on the engine, mounted to the "throttle body" which is the thing the "up pipe" is attached to at the top/front of the engine. (the TPS is on the passenger side and is held on with 2 screws). you loosen the screws a little, and slide the TPS as far towards the front of the car as it will go (the mounting holes are actually slots), then you 'rotate' the sensor slightly until the bottom reading (the .42 on the scanmaster) is correct.

Make sense?

I get that. I replaced My T.P.S and I.A.C myself. Just that my idle is not so great. My TPS setting is 40 right now with the key off. I'll bring it up but I have been adjusting it with the car running. Can I adjust it with the car off?

.40 key off, will probably be .42 with the key on. other than double checking the full throttle reading (do this engine off). you are probably fine.

the tps doesn't affect idle quality. there may be other things happening.
