Seat Position?

I have had a GN for 15yrs now and back then I thought it was cool. Now though, with a little achy back, I like to sit more vertical. Is it me or do these seats just lay back to far. I have one that doesn't seem to go back as far as the rest but I am thinking of getting a prop between the backseat and the front to keep it more upright. Anybody else notice this?

On almost every one that I have ever had the driver seat leans back a little more after some use. I am sure that there is a proper way to do it, but I folded up a cloth dish towel and used it as a spacer between the lowest section of the back where it ends and the top rear portion of the seat section. Even in it's uppermost position the back leans back a little too much for me. HTH.

They do seem to lay back a bit far with some age....they are shaped that way after a few years of torque? :biggrin:

I noticed on mine (6 way power) that on the bottom where the parts that rotate to make the seat go up and down, the plate they sit on one is broken on the right rear corner that causes the seat to rock. I had to put the seat all the way down to get it to stop.

now that you mention it they do seem to lay back farther now than when I bought my first one on 87.would love to cram some more foam into the seatback myself

Yeah, my power seat cars are pretty good. I am refering to the manual seats mainly. It is like there is a couple of clicks missing when you try to raise the angle of the back of the seat.

I like my sofa bench & arm rest. My six way is fun to position.

Years ago I had trouble with my 1st car which was a 65 Goat. You had forwards & backwards. I was short ( still am) & built a foot block to reach the clutch LOL

Try some seats out of a LS1 car. I sat in a buddies GN that had them and they felt NICE. Looked pretty cool wrapped in a GN seat cover.

I think getting pushed back in the seat so hard bends it.:biggrin:
