self adjusting rear brakes

hello; Do the TB stock rear drum brakes self adjust as you go in reverse? I was told it was true with my old Olds. How about newer cars with rear drums?

I never had any luck with them self adjusting i just jack the rear up and do it manually. Gave up on that reverse thing along time ago!

The self adjusters work good if they're not froze up and stuck, like most! I also adjust mine when I jack up the car. Gotta say tho, my self adjusters have been working alright. Thank antiseize for that!

Need to be aggressive when doing the self-adjusting method. I'll back up with some speed and pump (jabbing) the brakes, then come to a full stop and let the car rock. Usually 2 or 3 times.

Also do it when the brakes are cold. Hot the drums have expanded and can cause the brakes to drag when cold.
