Ok well I am contiplating selling my truck to the dealer. Its a 06 trailblazer ss, the trade in value is 19.5 and the book value is 23 what do you guys think they will offer me? I really hate to do this but the GN is more important to me I have wantedd my gn for 12yrs so thats what matters. The plan is to get rid of my truck and trade int he wifes 06 accord to get a new enclave for my kid on the way. Please give me some feedback
Thanks
Rob

You are going to be best off going to a GM dealer as they will be more likely to give you a decent figure for a newer make and model they have on their lot already. I wouldn't be surprised if you were offered less than trade-in value, though. There isn't much incentive for them to work with you if they can't make much money on it and you just want a cash deal. They will have to put money in your truck to get it ready for the next owner, so they'd probably want to deduct that estimate from low book value. Just my opinion.

At one point in my life I was a Used Car manager for a dealership, putting #'s on cars is what i mostly did.....SO...here's the REAL scoop. The values u see on Kelly blue book and all those other sites are worthless. A vehicle is only worth what the last few weeks of auction pricing has brung, their is a little book called "Galves" that is used to determine this along w/ auction sheets from nearby auctions in your area. The advice of going to a GM dealership is valid though, if it's a nice ride...they may step-up a bit because they can sell it on their lot versus wholesaling it. The value of your vehicle depends heavily on market demand at any given time (example....vette's do great in the spring...bad in fall where an F250 4x4 is the opposite for seasons). The GOOD news is they have so much incentive on cars these days, they will just move some $$ around and probably show u more for your trade then ur actually getting....bottom line, who cares, the end figure is the end figure.
